Finding a quiet and clean place

The first thing you should do when you are meditating is finding a quiet and clean place. You could sit in a chair with your feet flat on the ground or sit comfortably on the floor. You are free to choose to sit on the floor and try crossing your legs and let your hands rest on your legs. The position of your body should be straight up while sitting.

Starting the process of meditation

You could close your eyes and begin to focus. The first minute or two, you need to listen to the sounds around you. For example, you could hear a bird chirping outside and cars driving by. Then, you move your full attention to your body. You need to focus on your shoulders, hands, and feet. You need to think of them as weights and let your body feel the weight. Then, you need to spend another minute or two focusing solely on the body. After that, you let your mind wander. You could spend the next minute thinking positive thoughts.

The breathing process

You need to keep your eyes closed and shift your attention over your breath. It is recommended to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. After you are done with a few breaths, you are starting to count. Every time you inhale and exhale, they are counted as one. You need to count up to 10 if your mind starts wandering. If you love counts, you start over. When you feel calm and ready to take on the day, you slowly open your eyes.
